Chronic Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a serious and common infectious disease of the liver, affecting millions of people globally. It accounts for 60-80% of primary liver cancers cases and contributes to 1 in 4 premature deaths. GPs across WA who work with priority populations, and practice in regions with a high prevalence of chronic HBV, play a crucial role in reducing the burden of HBV and liver cancer through opportunistic testing and ongoing follow-up.
To coincide with World Hepatitis Day, this webinar will provide GPs with an overview of the global burden of disease caused by chronic HBV, map the prevalence of HBV in WA, and discuss the priority populations and current testing and immunisation policies as outlined in the National Hepatitis B Testing Policy.
NOTE: The time for the webinar is 6.00pm-7.00pm AWST
